P0711  Transmission Fluid Temperature Sensor “A” Performance

Description:

DTC CodeDTC Detection ConditionTrouble Area
P0711Either condition is met (2-trip detection logic):
(a) Certain monitor enabling conditions are met and the ATF temperature is below 20°C (68°F).(b) Certain monitor enabling conditions are met and the ATF temperature is 110°C (230°F) or higher.
Transmission wire (No. 1 ATF temperature sensor)

Typical enabling conditions:

The monitor will run whenever the following DTCs are not present: P0712, P0713, P2740, P2742, P2743 (ATF temperature sensor “A” circuit)
P0115, P0116, P0117, P0118, P011B (ECT (Engine Coolant Temperature) sensor circuit)
P0110, P0111, P0112, P0113 (IAT (Intake air temperature) sensor circuit)
P2610 (Soak timer circuit)

Procedure:

1. Check DTC output

ResultProceed to
Only P0711 is outputA
P0711 and other DTCs are outputB

A>> Check transmission fluid level.
B>> Go to DTC chart.

2. Check transmission fluid level.
a. Check the transmission fluid level.
a.1. Automatic transmission fluid level is correct.
OK>> Repair or replace transmission wire.
NG>> Add fluid.
