P0711 Transmission Fluid Temperature Sensor “A” Performance
Description:
| DTC Code | DTC Detection Condition | Trouble Area |
|---|---|---|
| P0711 | Either condition is met (2-trip detection logic): (a) Certain monitor enabling conditions are met and the ATF temperature is below 20°C (68°F).(b) Certain monitor enabling conditions are met and the ATF temperature is 110°C (230°F) or higher. | Transmission wire (No. 1 ATF temperature sensor) |

Datalist:
| Tester Display | Measurement Item/Range | Normal Condition | Diagnostic Note |
|---|---|---|---|
| A/T Oil Temperature 1 | No. 1 ATF temperature sensor value/ Min.: -40°C (-40°F) Max.: 150°C (302°F) | ·After stall test: Approximately 80°C (176°F)·Equal to ambient temperature when engine cold | If the value is -40°C (-40°F) or 150°C (302°F), the No. 1 ATF temperature sensor circuit is open or shorted. |
Procedure:
1. Check DTC output
| Result | Proceed to |
|---|---|
| Only P0711 is output | A |
| P0711 and other DTCs are output | B |
A>> Check transmission fluid level.
B>> Go to DTC chart.
2. Check transmission fluid level.
a. Check the transmission fluid level.
a.1. Automatic transmission fluid level is correct.
OK>> Repair or replace transmission wire.
NG>> Add fluid.
